Big Black Leaf takes the translation of its traditional name, “Da Wu Ye” as it describes the exceptionally large and dark green leaves of this cultivar. This tea is picked from 50-year-old tea plants in the Phoenix Mountains and is known for its intense fruity profile, as well as its liquor's sweet and rich character.
The tea has a captivating range of tropical and stone fruit flavors contrasted with deeper oat and spice notes; its flavor begins bright and progresses into deeper profiles as the tea is brewed. The tea yields a mild astringency and has a sweet, mouth-watering finish – iconic characteristics of teas of the Phoenix Mountains.
